Welcome to the San Diego Chapter of the Western Pension & Benefits Council

The mission of the Western Pension & Benefits Council is to educate, foster sound industry principles and provide for networking opportunities to local retirement, health & welfare and other employee benefits professionals.

The Western Pension & Benefits Council was founded in 1954 in San Francisco to help meet the educational needs of fiduciaries and other retirement plan professionals.  Through the years, the council expanded its scope to include those with responsibilities in the health and welfare fields.  Today, we have 11 chapters throughout the western United States.  The San Diego Chapter began in 1983. 

The San Diego Chapter offers six lunch meetings, typically held on the third Tuesday of each month from September through April.  Meetings begin at 11:30 a.m. and conclude at 1:00 p.m., and are held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Mission Valley (with the exception of the January meeting). The hotel has extended the complimentary parking.

  • November 13, 2018 (week before Thanksgiving)
  • January 16, 2019 (luncheon at a different location)
  • February 19, 2019
  • April 16, 2019

In addition to the luncheon meetings, we also provide two "On Demand Seminars" that provide technical, hands-on education in a small group setting.
