This session will provide technical and practical guidance related to Qualified Domestic Relations Orders.
Our speaker, Elizabeth Van Clief, is an attorney practicing in the areas of employee benefits and taxation, including Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (“QDROs”). She advises divorcing spouses and family law attorneys with regard to the preparation of QDROs and she has been recognized as an expert in the areas of ERISA, taxation, and QDROs for purposes of providing expert testimony in family law cases in California. Elizabeth advises Plan Administrators and Third Party Plan Administrators regarding the best practices for reviewing, qualifying, and processing QDROs. She also handles ERISA litigation pertaining to QDROs such as breach of fiduciary duty for the improper disqualification of a QDRO and benefit claims litigation on behalf of an alternate payee.
This continental breakfast meeting will be held at the offices of Foley & Lardner LLP, 3579 Valley Centre Drive, Suite 300, San Diego, CA 92130. Please plan on arriving at 8:00 a.m. for registration and networking. The presentation will run from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
